MAHARAJENDRA DATTAPUTA PARAMA VAISHNAVA SRI MAHARAJA DAHRASENA ('The Glorious King Dahrasena, foremost Follower of Vishnu, and son of King Indradatta' in Brahmi) Three-arched hill. Rare and beautifully toned. Good very fine.

The Traikutaka kings ruled in southern Gujarat and Maharashtra as the power of the Western Kshatrapas began to recede. Their name derives from the word for a three-peaked mountain ('Tri-kuta), the sacred hill which was created by three goddesses to defeat evil in the world and is shown on the reverse of this coin.
